bags finally packed and double chin still in place! But I jumped on the scales this morning and woo-hoo, I’ve lost another couple of pounds, so I’ve nearly done it: nearly reached that golden mile…the stone. But will I be able to retain my weigh loss during two weeks of margaritas, pizza, wine and sun bathing? I’ll be hunting down an internet café as soon as I land so I can keep you all informed of my um, progress! Oh, can’t wait!

I’m sure I’ve worked more muscles and burnt more calories trying to stuff half my wardrobe into my bag than I ever have at Spinning. The bedroom looks like someone’s put a bomb under a suitcase – there’s literally clothes in every corner. The bikini and its cohorts went in first – I don’t want to have to think about parading around in it until I’m on the beach and the glistening, warm water will be tempting enough for me to forget my wobbly thighs.

So, what happened to summer?

In truth, I’m not too fussed as I’m off to sunny climes at the weekend. Hooray! And, oh no! I dug out my French Women Don’t Get Fat book (it had mysteriously slipped down the side of the bed) and began to re-read it, hoping as I did so, that all that Gaelic good advice would someone burn away my love handles. It didn’t, but I’m hoping the yoga class that I did as a last ditch attempt to get a rock hard stomach might have shaved off some of my muffin top. Have not braved the scales again, but am still clinging on to the hope that I’m almost there.
