It’s great news to hear your pregnancy hormones are working wonders for your libido. Plus right now you’ll be benefitting from an increased blood flow to your pelvic area, meaning your genitals will be more engorged. As a result, many women find it easier than even before their pregnancy to get aroused and orgasm. What an added bonus!

Of course at 6 months, you’re starting to get quite cumbersome. So it’s time to start ditching some of the usual sexual positions in favour of some playful experimentation. You probably know already that lying on your back during intercourse is both uncomfortable and impossible as your belly gets in the way! So go for positions that allow your abdomen the space it needs. Spooning is ideal. As is the leapfrog position. Contrary to the name, no jumping required. You lie on your bed, with your legs spread wide, leaning forwards and your partner enters you from behind. This posture has the additional benefit of allowing your man to control the depth of his thrusts. This will be especially important for you because in your third trimester, you may feel like your cervix is lower in your vagina, meaning deeper penetration can be unusually uncomfortable.

Finally, here’s something that I find very special. Not only is sex good for your relationship, it’s also good for your baby. The endorphins (dubbed the happy drug) that get released during orgasm, will reach the womb, allowing your little ’un to enjoy the benefits.
