Madonna celebrated her 50th birthday last month proving that age really is no barrier to today’s women. Not only does she look amazing but she’s still entertaining the masses too; with her ‘Sticky and Sweet’ world tour.
But should a woman of this age still be cavorting around on stage or is it time hang up the Lycra? What about the real fifty something woman on the street; can you still be fabulous at 50 without the aid of a dietician, personal trainer and Pilates expert? Or is it only mega stars who can afford to enjoy the benefits of eternal youth?
Sky Real Lives talks to a real life ‘fabulous-at-fifty-something’; Angela Purlsford, who at the age of 52 is as glamorous and gorgeous as ever with a hoard of sexy young men at her heels. Angela is living life to the full so much that she is also taking part in Sky Real Lives documentary ‘Toy Boys’ coming soon on Sky Real Lives.
“I feel now, being 50, that I am more empowered; I’ve gained experience and confidence which can only come with time. I think younger men find that an attraction in mature women. I also believe that a lot of women become more sexually attractive as they get older. Age is only a state of mind after all.”
Angela is not alone, as Sky Real Lives documentary ‘Toy Boys!’ discovers, for many women turning 50 is “just another number.” Angela remembers that “Yes, the Big 5 0 had come around; but I didn't feel any different from the night before when I went to bed at 49. If anything I feel my mental attitude has gone back in age rather than forward.”
